Hot off the sewing machine

Eye pillow for meditation, savasana, headaches and weary muscles, handmade and available at www.etsy.com/shop/missclarks

As part of my yoga teacher training I had to have an eye pillow for meditation and savasana. I was in the middle of Central America with days to go when I realised I didn't have one with me. So I improvised. I bought come flax seeds and 'borrowed' my boyfriends sunglasses pouch. I filled it with the flax and sewed it up. It was ok, no beauty, so I decided it needed a little something. I had previously ripped a dress I had with me so instead, it was no longer wearable and with my current sewing skills, un fixable. So i fashioned a cover for this eye pillow. It was dark blue, seams were wonky but it didn't matter, I made it, it was mine.

I have now made some more, out of a beautiful piece of embroidered material. They are filled with not only flax seeds but other seeds and dried beans adding to the weight. In there is also a combination of either Lavender & Thyme or Mint, Fennel and Kafir Lime Leaf. Everything inside is natural and dried. There is no artificial scents or oils.

They serve my students with a relaxing scent for savasana and mediation. They also block out any light in the room allowing for a deeper state of relaxation.

You can use them at room temperature as I often do at the end of a yoga class. Or keep it in the fridge and use to sooth tension headaches. Even heat it up and rest it on weary joints or muscles.

They are approx 10 inches by 3 inches, long enough to rest over your eyes and temples as you lie down.

The cream cotton and embroidered patterned ones are all one of a kind and in limited supply. More designs to follow.
